Description

When looking for a high performance gasket, rubber seals often lack the ability to remain durable if an application comes in contact with oils. For these situations, consider using  gaskets made of Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, also known as oil resistant rubber – NBR.

Nitrile NBR gasket material is one of the few rubbers that are particularly resistant to petroleum, mineral, and vegetable oils, as well as some acid solutions and water. These industrial oil resistant rubber gaskets are commonly found in automotive, aeronautical, food service and sewer applications due to their specialized oil resistant properties.

The NBR gaskets have a max Temperature Range from ~ -54°C to 121°C and a very good resistance to oils, solvents and fuels. The nitrile rubber gaskets show good abrasion resistance, cold flow, tear resistance. We cut NBR gaskets per customer dimensions which are preferred for all kind of applications including with Nitrogen or Helium.

The NBR gaskets we cut have poor resistance to UV, ozone, and weathering. The oil resistant gaskets have also poor resistance to ketones and chlorinated hydrocarbons. For these purposes you can use EPDM gaskets.

SBR rubber gaskets are recommended for service in cold and hot water, air, steam and some weak acids. It should not be used with strong acids, oils, grease and chlorates. It offers little resistance to ozone and to the majority of hydrocarbons. They have excellent abrasion resistance and are cheap. We can cut complex or simple designs of SBR gaskets for you.
